Amatsu Tatara Hichibuku Goshinjutsu

The Hichibuku Goshinjutsu is traditional japanese medicine that is part of the ancient Amatsu Tatara tradition and is influenced by Chinese, Korean and other Asian philosophical and medical approaches. It has a close relation to the ryu-ha taught in the Bujinkan and ninjutsu in general, as it was used by Takamatsu Sensei, through whom the knowledge was passed to the current Soke, Masaaki Hatsumi.

The progression levels of Hichibuku Goshinjutsu are:

  • Shoden
  • Chuden
  • Okuden
  • Menkyo
  • Menkyo Kaiden
Menkyo Kaiden is the highest level of progression and has only been given to 4 Europeans, find out more here.

Treatment Methods

The Hichibuku Goshinjutsu system of Japanese Natural Medicine integrates; bodywork (including neuromuscular re-balancing, musculo-skeletal manipulation and cranial work), acupuncture and natural medicine to balance the body’s physical/structural, nutritional/chemical, emotional/psychological, energetic systems and its ability to interact with its environment.

Injury, illness and stress cause adaptative patterns within the body. These compensations remain within the body far beyond the need for protection and repair. Such adaptions prevent the body from returning to a natural state of balanced health (homoeostasis). The Hichibuku Goshinjutsu uses a comprehensive treatment approach to restore balanced health and wellness.

Hichi Buku Goshinjutsu - Traditional Japanese Medicine uses (amongst others) the following methods:

Taihenjutsu: Japanese self correction exercises. These include all stretching and movement exercises that enable patients to maintain health and rehabilitate after injury and disease.

Anma: Japanese massage, acupressure and reflex points. This promotes repair and the restoration of normal function by releasing muscle tensions, restoring vital energy and improving drainage. This restoration of balance creates a state of health and vitality.

Seitai: Japanese body realignment and neuromuscular rebalancing. This works on the biomechanical and energetic relationships that exist between the; head /neck, spine, pelvis and the feet, to restore alignment and balance throughout the structure of the body. The result is a restoration of natural health, a reduction in stress and body strain and also an increase in coordination.

Kuatsu: Emergency methods of resuscitation and revival.

Seikotsu: Japanese Skeletal Manipulation balances the body by correcting restrictions and misalignments to the skeletal joints. Dr Hatsumi states that "All illnesses have something to do with the abnormality of the spine". In addition such restrictions in the joints create stagnation which inhibits the free flow of 'Ki' (vital energy).

Hari: Japanese Acupuncture maintains the balanced and free flow of 'Ki' around the body and to the vital organs. Acupuncture is internationally recognised as a powerful therapeutic treatment for a wide range of conditions. Moxa (herbal heat treatment) is also be used in cold or chronic conditions.

Eiyo: Japanese nutrition. The principle is ‘you are what you eat’. Food can be a very powerful medicine and is about more than just having sufficient nutrients, vitamins and minerals. By choosing the correct foods you can counteract stress, disease and general body weaknesses.

Ampuku: Japanese abdominal / visceral technique used for diagnosis and treatment of the internal organs.

Kampo: Japanese Herbal Medicine. Specific herbs are used to raise the weakened constitution and to combat disease of the body and vital organs.

Kiko: Japanese Ki (bio-energy) healing. Used to remove blockages in vital energy and restore the body's innate energetic balance and resonance.
